# Outward Transfers

The Outward Transfers page allows you to initiate transfers from your customers' accounts in Udara360 to accounts held at other banks across Nigeria, processed through interbank payment gateways such as NIBSS and Interswitch. This is the page you would use when a customer requests a transfer to a beneficiary at a different bank, whether through a teller, an operational workflow, or a channel-initiated request. Each transfer goes through a two-step process; account details first, then a transaction summary for confirmation and once submitted, you can track exactly where it stands using the status indicators on the list page. This guide will walk you through initiating an outward transfer, understanding transaction statuses, and managing transfer records.

## Understanding Transaction Status

Each outward transfer moves through a series of statuses as it is processed. Use this section to understand what each status means and what action, if any, is required.

| Status | Description |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pending** | The customer has been debited, and the request has been queued for transmission to the processing gateway (e.g. NIBSS, Interswitch). |
| **Processing** | The customer has been debited, and the request has been sent to the processing gateway, awaiting a response. |
| **Pending TSQ** | A response has been received from the processing gateway, but final confirmation is still pending. |
| **Confirm Manually** | The response from the processing gateway does not clearly indicate success or failure, and the Transaction Status Query (TSQ) returned an indefinite response. This status requires manual review. |
| **Processed** | A successful transfer confirmation has been received from the processing gateway. |
| **Reversed** | The customer's funds have been reversed after the transaction was confirmed to have failed on the processing gateway. |
| **Failed** | The transaction failed and the customer was not debited. |

### **What a successful transaction looks like**

A transaction is successful when its status reaches **Processed,** this confirms the processing gateway has acknowledged the transfer and the funds have reached the beneficiary.

### **What a failed transaction looks like**

A transaction has failed when its status shows **Failed,** this means the customer was not debited and no further action is required on your part. If a transaction was debited but later confirmed to have failed on the gateway, it will move to **Reversed**, and the customer's funds will be returned automatically.

### **When to take action**

Transactions with a **Confirm Manually** status require your attention, the gateway response was unclear, so you'll need to manually verify whether the transfer was successful or not before proceeding.

## Managing a Transaction

In the **Actions** column, click the three vertical dots next to a transaction to access the following options:

* **Print Transaction Receipt:** print a copy of the transaction receipt
* **Download Transaction Receipt:** download a copy of the transaction receipt
