# Batch Account Status Update

The Batch Account Status Update page allows you to change the status of multiple accounts at once by uploading a pre-formatted spreadsheet file. This is useful when you need to activate, deactivate, or update the standing of a large number of accounts simultaneously, rather than updating each account individually. This guide will walk you through the batch account status update process.

## Accessing Batch Account Status Update 

1. Log into the application using your credentials.
2. From the dashboard, navigate to **Data Upload** in the side menu.
3. Expand **Data Upload** and Select **Batch Account Status Update**  from the dropdown list

## Updating Account Statuses in Bulk

1. Click **Download Batch Account Status Update Format** to download the pre-formatted spreadsheet template
2. Populate the template with your account data and save the file in [**.xlsx**](/core-features/data-upload/batch-account-status-update.md#updating-account-statuses-in-bulk) **format**
3. Click **Browse** or **drag and drop** the completed file into the upload area
4. Toggle **Enable** Preview to review the file contents before submission if required
5. Click **Create Account Status**; a confirmation modal will appear asking: **"Are you sure you want to Create Batch Account Status Update?"**
6. Click **confirm** to proceed

> :pushpin:If the system cannot locate a record to update, an error message will be displayed. Verify that all account numbers in your file exist and are active before submitting.
