Current and Savings_Virtual Account

We have updated the documentation for the Current & Savings Virtual Account page, which is used to manage and monitor virtual accounts (designed for wallets and agency banking accounts). Virtual Accounts can not exist on their own, except being linked to a parent account which must be designated as a Corporate Account.

These accounts can be categorized as:

  • Virtual Wallet Accounts: Designed to hold a balance and operate like a regular account.

  • Virtual Proxy Accounts: Designed to act solely as a transit or pass-through account. They do not hold a balance but reroute transactions to a final destination, which is always the parent corporate account. More suitable for payment checkout systems

This guide details the navigation and core actions within the Current & Savings Virtual Account pages, including:

  • Viewing and modifying virtual account details

  • Deactivating/activating virtual accounts

  • Executing PNC/PND or Freezing virtual accounts

  • Setting a Virtual Account Alias on the Parent Corporate Information page

Access Virtual Account Page

  1. Log into the application using your credentials.

  2. From the home page, navigate to Accounts in the side menu.

  3. Select Customer Account from the dropdown list.

  4. Select Current and Savings from the Customer Account dropdown list.

  5. Click on the Filter button located at the page's top right and select your prefered Virtual Account Type to filter by (Virtual Proxy or Virtual Wallet)

Search For A Particular Virtual Account

To search for a certain current or savings account virtual account, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into the application using your credentials.

  2. From the home page, navigate to Accounts in the side menu.

  3. Select Customer Account from the dropdown list.

  4. Select Current and Savings from the Customer Account dropdown list.

  5. Click on the Filter button located at the page's top right; input the virtual account number in the account number field or virtual account name in the account name field.

Search For Virtual Accounts Linked To A Corporate Customer (Parent)

To search for a certain current or savings account virtual account, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into the application using your credentials.

  2. From the home page, navigate to Accounts in the side menu.

  3. Select Customer Account from the dropdown list.

  4. Select Current and Savings from the Customer Account dropdown list.

  5. Click on the Filter button located at the page's top right; input the Corporate Customer's Customer ID in the Customer ID field, select your preferred account type (virtual wallet or virtual proxy) from the Account Type dropdown field and click on Apply button

Modify Search: You can also modify the search by selecting the desired row on the search result.

Create a Virtual Account

To create a current or savings_Virtual Account linked to a parent Corporate, please make sure that you have already created the Corporate's Customer ID on the system. You can access the Corporate Customer Information Page to create a new Corporate Customer account.

Note: For a Corporate to be eligible to have virtual accounts linked to it, the Alias field highlighted above is mandatory to be populated any label of choice e.g POS, Agent, Checkout, Company Name etc Virtual Accounts are designated with a starting digit of 9 for easy identification

To initiate a the creation of a new Virtual Account:

  1. From the home page, navigate to Accounts in the side menu.

  2. Select Customer Account from the dropdown list.

  3. Select Current and Savings from the Customer Account dropdown list.

  4. Click on the Filter button located at the page's top right, input the parent company's Corporate Customer ID

  5. Click on the Apply button to search for the corporate account.

  6. Under the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () located at the extreme end of the result to reveal the dropdown list of extra submenu permissions

  7. Select Virtual Account from the dropdown list.

  8. Fill in the required customer account information. These information are the exact Know-Your-Customer (KYC details) of the virtual account holder.

  9. Click the Save button to apply.

  10. Confirm the action by clicking the “Yes, I want to proceed” button.

Note: Alias is the preceeding name that will be automatically appended to the name of the virtual account E.g Where Alias = "POSx" and the name of the virtual account holder is Smith Venture or Gloria Smith, the virtual account name will finally appear as"POSx/Smith Venture" or "POSx/Gloria Smith" after creation

View or Modify a Virtual Account

To modify an existing current or savings account detail:

  1. In the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () next to the current/savings you wish to view or edit.

  2. Select Modify from the dropdown menu to begin editing or select View from the dropdown menu to view the details in read only mode.

  3. Make the necessary updates, such as changing the Account Information, Interest Fees, Preferences, Mandate Rule, Referee and Other Documents.

  4. Click Submit to save and apply the changes.

  5. Click the "Yes, I want to proceed" button to reconfirm action.

View Virtual Wallet Account Balance

To view an existing current or savings account balance:

  1. In the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () next to the virtual account you wish to view.

  2. Click View Balance from the dropdown menu.

Activate/Deactivate a Virtual Account

To activate/deactivate an existing current or savings account:

  1. In the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () next to the virtual account you wish to activate or deactivate.

  2. Select Deactivate/Activate from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the "Yes, I want to proceed" button to reconfirm action.

Place a Post No Debit (PND) On A Virtual Account Account

To place a PND in an existing virtual account:

  1. In the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () next to the virtual accoun you wish to place transaction restriction on

  2. Select Place PND from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the "Yes, I want to proceed" button to reconfirm action.

Place a Post No Credit (PNC) On Current & Savings Account

To place a PND in an existing current or savings account:

  1. In the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () next to the virtual accoun you wish to place transaction restriction on

  2. Select Place PNC from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the "Yes, I want to proceed" button to reconfirm action.

Freeze Account

To freeze in an existing current or savings account:

  1. In the Actions column, click the three vertical dots () next to the virtual accoun you wish to place transaction restriction on

  2. Select Freeze from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the "Yes, I want to proceed" button to reconfirm action.
